Lake Wenatchee: Kids and new campers welcome!

This summer we were lucky enough to start our camping season in June. I spent much of last year fixing up and cleaning up our 1980 Burro.

We headed over the mountains to Leavenworth and the Tierra Learning center for the wedding of two of our favorite people.  We were pretty involved in the wedding and it had lots of diy creativity with lights, music delicious food and lots of dancing.  I managed and prepared the Friday dinner for the first hundred guests including a middle eastern themed lamb and turkey meatball, in a pita with yogurt saziki and a greek salad.  Added a little summer fusion with a strawberry shortcake because it is amazing when the strawberries are in season!

After the 3 day event we were ready for a vacation!

Our clean site soon became filled with toys, snacks and hanging towels.  We had an awesome 3 days there!  Heres a look at the main beach.  The little store also rents paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boats by the hour.

I was told by locals that the campground gets real busy towards the end of June so get your reservations early! Here is the state park link for Lake Wenatchee.  See you there!
